Research of ancient fish fossil coelacanth in the Manado sea water of North Sulawesi on this year 2009, have been planning on this month of July. Work together between LIPI Indonesia and Fukushima Aquamarine – Japan.This research cooperation is a routine annual research. After tenth of diving operation on 2008 has not yet appeared catch of ancient fish. On the picture is a fish catch by photo that use of remotely operated vehicle in Malalayang, Manado-Indonesia.
Aquamarine Fukushima – Japan said that very interested to know the detail of ancient fish fossil. So they often do a diving expedition or seminar about coelacanth. As said by Agus H. Thakrawidaja, Biologi Center of Fish Research, LIPI. Expert from Japan sure that there are no evolution on this fish for thousandth years. So they want to collect this fish, either life or dead. Agus said that we don’t know much about the fish.
As Agus that the condition of central Sulawesi is very suitable for this fish to life, but there are not enough scientific data to prove it.
